Basic Brown Rice
Brown rice is so versatile. Use it with stews, soups, roasted veggies, stir fry etc. I buy a sprouted brown rice as it cooks quicker and you get more nutrients from it.

Instructions
  1. Place rice, water and salt (optional) in pot and bring to a boil.
  2. Cover and reduce heat to low.
  3. Simmer for 50 minutes if it is short grain, and 35 minutes if it is long grain.
  4. When done, pull from heat and let stand covered for 10 minutes.
  5. Fluff rice with fork before serving.
  6. I like a sprouted brown rice as its quicker and you get more nutrients from it.
